Brittany Howard

Brittany is a wife, mother and entrepreneur with a big heart for teaching and inspiring her students. Born in Chicago, Illinois Brittany began her dance career at a local park district with beginning ballet. By age 6 Brittany would dance spontaneously anywhere and with so much joy. Taking her passion through grade school and into high school, Brittany began to choreograph pieces for the team she loved in high school: Dance Production. By her junior year she became co-captain and captain her senior year.

By the time Brittany attended college at Bradley University, she knew she wanted to pursue a life-long dream of owning a dance company for children. While studying criminal justice and sociology she started a student organization called Movement for One while directing the children’s praise dance ministry, Adoration in Rhythm, at her local church.

After completing her degree and entering the work force, Brittany quickly realized that she wanted to place her passion energy and time into instructing. She began choreographing for the X-Factor Agency. From there she found the confidence to launch her own company. In 2015 Ms. Brittany’s School of Dance officially launched in Peoria, Illinois. This period of her life set the stage for who she is today which marks the foundation for inspiring her students to give their best effort and a love for diverse people connected through dance.

Later Brittany relocated to the Dallas Metroplex with her two young children and husband where Ms. Brittany’s School of Dance has evolved into Beyond the Barre Dance Studio that we know and love today. She continues to serve the city and surrounding suburbs with excitement. She believes that dance should be fun and cheerful, build confidence and provide opportunities to develop character. It should also express what words sometimes cannot in a way that inspires life. You may see Brittany around town shopping, refining her dance skills by taking classes in her community or laughing with her family while playing a game of Uno.
